Help with bereavement.
Grief does not end with the funeral, and there is no right way to feel it. The weeks and months afterwards can be harder than the day itself. A short list of the people we most often point families towards is below.
Some families tell us they want to talk to someone straight away. Others find it is a year later, or longer, that the weight really lands. Both are ordinary. All of the organisations below are free, and run by people who do this work for a living.
If you are not sure where to start, your GP can refer you into local NHS bereavement counselling in Camden or Islington, usually at no cost. You can also telephone us, and we will help you find the right door.
Cruse Bereavement Support
Free national helpline and one-to-one bereavement support, including local services in Camden and Islington.
The Good Grief Trust
A directory of UK bereavement charities and support groups, searchable by area and by type of loss.
Child Bereavement UK
Support for families when a child is grieving, or when a child has died, at any age.
Sudden
Practical and emotional support for anyone bereaved suddenly or unexpectedly, including by accident or suicide.
NHS talking therapies
Self-referral to free NHS counselling and talking therapy in Camden, Islington and across England.
Marie Curie Support Line
Free, confidential support for anyone affected by a terminal illness or bereavement.
